Walking the north eastern beaches of Florida is different every day.
The beach is called a living beach because one day you can find shark
teeth and the next day find a freshly dug loggerhead turtle nest.
The beach is home to many species. One of them is the Least Tern.
It's the smallest of the American Terns and can be found nesting
on the sandy beaches of the Florida.
During breading season the Least Tern's cap changes color to a mars black.
My painting "Chasing the Wave", depicts a Breeding Least Tern in flight seeking a mate
on Mickler Beach, Ponte Vedra, Florida.
